Founded in 2015, Build Up Your People provides small and medium sized businesses with Human Resources expertise without the cost of having a full-time expert on staff. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, we offer clients help navigating the web of local, state, and federal employment regulations. We can provide services at our clients’ locations or off-site and even remotely. Our goal is to enable our clients to operate and grow their businesses through empowering our clients’ employees. Sometimes that means providing the client the tools to handle human resources on their own and other times it means providing ongoing assistance.
About Danny Speros, Principal Consultant and Founder
I am an HR professional with over seventeen years experience and hold senior-level professional certifications: SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resources Management-Senior Certified Professional). I have served in general HR positions in small and large organizations with specialized experience in benefits and workers compensation. I have held leadership positions in small and mid-size organizations including running my family’s cast stone business for several years.
In my career, I’ve learned a lot about employment laws and requirements, how to motivate and evaluate employees, how adults and teams learn and grow, and how to get through tough situations. Some of these lessons were learned the hard way, which is an effective way to learn something, but I’d like to help my clients avoid learning things the hard way themselves. My experience and skills means that my clients get expert help quickly and efficiently.
At its purest, the human resources function is about getting the best out of the people that power an organization. With Build Up Your People, I work to help my clients do just that, whether through being directly involved in the motivation and goal setting of your staff or by taking care of administrative work so you can do what you do best. I have a strong history of helping organizations solve problems and seize opportunities.
I’m a Phoenix native, love the valley, and am amazed at the area’s growth in my lifetime. I attended Brophy College Prep and then graduated with a degree in Economics from Santa Clara University. I also lived and worked in San Diego for eight years, where I met my wife.
Outside of work, I enjoy trail running as well as hiking and camping with my wife, our daughter, and our dog. We also volunteer through and support AASK (Aid to Adoption of Special Kids).
